I’m just wondering what everyone else felt, whether or not to let a reinforced toe be seen, or not….! Your thought/experiences please..! Best answer gets the points :)

Definitely no!!! I don’t wear stockings at all with sandals or open toe shoes.

    heck no.
i will NOT wear nylons with open-toe shoes.
if it is cool enough outside to be wearing stockings…. it is cold enough to wear only closed-toe shoes, too.

Lord NO!!! Who does that?? I think I would die of shame if I wore any kind of hosiery with open toed shoes. I’m going to write my Congressman and get a law passed to make this a punishable offense.

Never ever ever ever never ever never ever never ever!! LOL

I have, in a pinch, worn reinforced toe stockings with open toe heels/sandals. I much prefer to not do so; if you have a nice pedicure it’s fun to show it off.

No socks of any kind with sandals of any kind, male or female!

You can get a groovy retro thing going with it if you want. I’ve also seen a little bit of the dark reinforcement showing with low cut closed toe pumps.

No, that is so tacky! You will look like trailor park trash. I’ve seen this at a wedding with red shoes and it just made the entire outfit look like it was from the Good Will. It’s okay to shop at Good Will, but don’t look like it.

If you are going to wear hose with open toe heels make sure that you buy sandal toe styles. They are available in most hosiery brands.

I am a confirmed stocking wearer, but never wear rht’s with open toes! Wear sandlefoot stockings which have an all **** foot with open shoes.

I wear RHT’s most of the time, but I prefer closed pumps for the office, and wear boots in the winter,so the reinforced toes are fine, but always, always, wear sandlefoot stockings with open toes or sandals.

Save them fore pumps and boots! Always, Always wear all sheer stockings sandals or open toes shoes, an make sure they are Ultra-sheer, and pulled up tight. You don’t want any wrinkles, or bunching with all that foot exposure, but they will be a lot more attractive and **** than the dreaded bare foot look. Nothing worse than dusty, stick bare feet in sandals, even with a pedicure. Bare feet are for the beach and flip flops, not heels.

  12. luckylady says:

No, you wear sandlefoot stockings with a **** toe and heel.

  13. stevemincer says:

this is like wearing black socks with sandals.

I always wear fully fashioned stockings everyday and they have a reinforced heel and toe as well as seams (unlike reinforced heel-and-toe stockings, which are seamless). I do wear them with open-toe heels, but I wear vintage or retro-style clothing all the time. In the 1940’s and 1950’s, this was not a fashion faux pas as it is today. However, it doesn’t bother me as I prefer to be old fashioned.

I am required to wear stockings at work, and I sometimes wear reinforced toe hose with my sandals/open-toe shoes.I have a draw full of stocking, and some are reinforced toe.The sandalfoot run often anyway.I just don’t mind.I saw another woman at work wearing them too.

  16. nylonstockingsociety says:

It totally depends on what you are wearing. Just wearing a casual outfit, reinforced toe stockings will look like a fashion mistake. But for a dressed up look or a retro look, they can look stylish. This photo is a great example of RHT stockings with open toe sandals.
