There is an old proverb : "Do not run before you can walk"

Wearing high heels takes practice.

Remember that wearing high heels alters your balance, your gait, the way you walk, the angle of your feet, the stretching of your leg muscles.

So, start with a heel slightly higher than you are used to. Get used to that height and work up (excuse the pun).

For my part, I regularly wear 4" heels, although, on occasions I have worn 5" heels in comfort.

It takes time and practice.

One last thought. We are all different. Everyone has a limit - there is no point in wearing heels higher than your tolerance level. Clothes are supposed to be comfortable.

A couple things makes a difference...
1. Quality of the shoe. Higher quality shoes tend to be more comfortable.
2. Fit. Make sure you get the right size.
3. Practice. You will use muscles differently when wearing heels and it takes some time to adjust.

It all depends on the shoe dear, cheap shoes will hurt, get some cushion insoles, they help alot, the concrete does do a number on your feet no matter what. You have to try on diffrent levels of heels in the store to find what height is good for you....and then, practice makes perfect, wear them around the house all the time, walk by coming down with the pressure on your heel, and then to the ball of your feet,...good luck!
