I think is ok, provided they are tasteful. I work in a Pediatrics department for a major hospital and open-toed shoes seem to be completely a-ok

Sandals are fine, not “flip flops” or “slides” but good looking, well made sandals, reason for me is that they are very sloppy looking and the noise they make (flip flop) when walking can be very distracting in an office enviorment. BUT, the one thing I must point out is ladies PLEASE, PLEASE make sure you feet are well maintained, moisturized and your toe nail polish is not chipped, nothing is more of a turn off as seeing cracked skin on heels and toe nails that are not clipped!

I would say open toe sandals are a no no. Expensive closed mules would be acceptable if worn with sheer stockings, no bare feet. Bare feet are really not that attractive, despite what Hollywood shows. Regular high heeled pumps are always the classic chioce and come in so many styles and colors. Hose should also be worn, I **** pantyhose so I wear ultra sheer stockings and a garter belt. They are so light and comfortable, and never bunch or catch like lycra pantyhose.

no, very unprofessional. i work in a law firm downtown San Francisco and if i came in wearing open-toes shoes i’d be in trouble.
feet are sort of personal and no one should be obligated to see your feet.

Honestly, it depends on the sandal. If the sandals are professional and made out of nice quality material, it’s alright to wear in a business environment. If you decide to lack in some area, such as the shoes you’re wearing, then counteract it with a nice shirt. It’s important to be comfortable at work.

Flip-flops no. Nice sandals, they should be allowed as long as they are in nice condition…same as with slides. Also, the persons feet shouldn’t be all yucky either, (i.e. nails, etc….good grooming pertains here). I used to work for a company that wouldn’t allow us to wear open toed or open heeled shoes…was so hard to find stuff to wear when everything was the opposite!

Nope, it is totally unprofessional to do that even on Casual Fridays! It gives off a bad vibe to people that are going to invest, at a business.
