try rope sandals, i ffind them really comfortable. Its like walking on a carpet. The rope sandals below are the different style I have bought.

There are a few styles:

-Flip flops (as you mentioned)
-Gladiator sandals
-High heels
-Wedges
-Espadrilles

Since the flip flops you mentioned stain, here’s a pair of leather ones.

I’m not a grandma, but I am 31 and I wear Naturalizers.
They are very comfortable and great for walking.
