Why the HELL do some people wear sandals and open-toed shoes in cold weather?
jlalibra asked:
I don’t understand it!!! To the people who DO wear sandals and open-toed shoes in cold weather: WHY do you wear them in cold weather?! Are you trying to catch a cold or something? Tell me what’s the deal with that!

People say their feet don’t get cold and they like wearing sandals. I know people who wear sandals even in the rain. Also, wearing opened toed shoes has nothing to do with catching a cold. Colds/flu are viral infections.

1. Getting a cold because of the cold weather is a myth. The reason illnesses get around more in the cold months are because the cold causes people to cough and sneeze more, which spreads germs more rapidly.
2. If it’s cold out, most people are probably just going from their cars to a warm building, and thirty seconds of some cold is nothing compared to the rest of the day in warmth if you like to wear sandals.
3. It probably doesn’t bother them. Not everyone is as affected by the cold.

They can take the cold unlike you. the sandals might be their only shoes.

The cold doesn’t bother most people. Try putting a pair of flip flops on and walk around in them. Your feet will warm up. Plus they are very easy to get on and off especially when you have 2 young kids and are always in a rush! I’m guilty for wearing sandals in the cold weather, but I won’t stop.

I wear my flip flops in the cold alot because your feet don’t get cold in the 10 seconds it takes to get to the car, and the rest of the day in a building will be comfortable.

Maybe they are just trying to be noticed or different.

Why do some people insist on wearing long sleeves and jackets when it’s warm out? I don’t get it? Do they want to die of heat stroke? Why wear a garment designed for the cold in warm weather?
Maybe the people you see aren’t cold? To me, shorts and tank-top weather starts at about sixty-five degrees. My brother is still huddled in his hoodie, whimpering about being cold at seventy degrees. Everyone’s different. Maybe they’re staring at you, wondering about how you can stuff your toes into shoes on such a nice day?

I go barefoot all winter long. I used to have cold feet all the time and I sniffled and coughed from early fall until late spring when I still wore shoes. Now, I keep my upper body warm but my feet bare, I have no cold or numb toes, I called in sick once in the past ten years, and even minor sniffles or coughs are rare. As long as you keep your *core* temperature up, bare feet or open-toed shoes aren’t any problem, it can even be healthy to keep your temperature up from the inside rather than to rely on insulation completely.
There are also people who dress warmly even in summer which would make me feel very hot and stuffy. But I don’t go wondering about them, I just figure that’s what they prefer to wear. Now if people are wearing sandals and complaining about cold feet, then I guess I don’t understand either (or wearing long sleeves & complaining about the heat in summer).

Some people have very warn or hot feet. why does it bother you?

I would have to agree that sandals are a hot weather inspired type of footwear. So those that do chose to wear in cold weather must be following some unknown fashion trend.

After dominating the negative discount mbt shoes heel market for several years, MBT have finally got a competitor, with the mbt shoes clearance introduction of the Chung Shi shoes range to the UK. Despite the mbt sneakers name, The Chung Shi (apparently meaning rest mbt sneakers and movement) are a German owned company, whereas MBT or Masai Barefoot footwear etc Technology are Swiss owned. Both are classed as EU class 1 medical buy mbt shoes products and both have won International MBT shoes Sports Organisation Awards (ISPO). MBT have been around since 1992 and the Chung Shi from 2000. This summer this type of footwear has grabbed national headlines with Jenny Bond writing about them and Jerry Hall sporting them, whereas Liz Hurley and Jemima Khan have been seen out with their MBTs.
Walking on Chung Shi mbt sandals shoes and MBT shoes is like walking on sand. The instability mbt shoes sale of the shoe mean the calves, thighs, hips and buttocks muscles have mbt shoes review to work in tandem to balance and align the body. By using discount mbt shoes more muscle groups, the strain upon joints and discs is reduced. MBT claim mbt sandals there is a 19% reduction in stress on the knees and hip mbt sandals joint. Chung Shi don’t have any proven claims mbt shoes clearance but i guess working on the same concept the figures mbt shoes sale will be similar.
The footwear effect is more MBT shoes aggressive, having less layers of sole, the foot mbt shoes sale receives more feedback on the walking surface, so the mbt sneakers body can adapt accordingly. The company argues that too much softening mbt shoes cheap and shock absorption creates instability which leads to inadequate feedback. Instability MBT makes it more difficult to align posture and can overuse certain MBT muscles and tendons, increasing the risk of injury.
Personally, i prefer to mbt sneakers wear MBT, as I feel that the shoe is better made, and is mbt walking shoes backed by medical evidence, but to be honest the mbt shoes best prices competitors shoe does look a bit more ‘normal’.
