star trak is a indie label, indie just means independent. I think they fit in with the star trak family. listen to NERD first album and listen to kenna’s album, chester french has that kind of vibe.

Yesss I’m so exciteddd! They caught my interest cuz i saw them in the Zune Magazine and the name Chester French sounded really familiar. Turns out they named their band after Daniel Chester French, who’s the guy who made the Lincoln Memorial and all these other neat sculptures, and this summer I went to a museum that had a bunch of his work in it. So yeah there’s my 2 cents of nerdiness (:
But Chester French is really cool….i prefer this song to She Loves Everybody personally

oh god i hope these guys will be warming up nerd in finland next month.
October 25th, 2008 at 2:32 pm
get one thing straight guys. nerd the band leans towards rock. pharrell and the asian dude alone leans toward hiphop. chester french is good i like them. they bring back the 60s 70s soft cali rock sound back. well atleast with this song

I agree, their music is bland and plain.

chester french sucks. Their music is weak and the band members are arrogant and irritating

October 31st, 2008 at 2:17 pm

I guess you haven’t heard of N.E.R.D., then. They branch out into the rock genre on some of their tracks. These guy’s first got Star Track’s attention by doing a remix of “Excuse Me Miss”. Another artist that Pharell is into, jazz pianist Jamie Cullum, got similiar attention for his remix of “Frontin’ “. Pharell also recently teamed up with the lead singer of The Strokes on the track “My Drive Thru”
In short: STFU about Chester French.

I listen to everyone on star trak, and none of them sound like chester french
November 3rd, 2008 at 3:37 pm
do you even listen to anyone on star track?
November 6th, 2008 at 4:43 pm
NERD is hip-hop meets rock so either genre would fit in perfect on star trak. Everyone who keeps saying that chester french is garbage needs to take a step back. Chester French could be considered a more rock-ish NERD. NERD simply leans more towards the side of hip-hop rather than rock.

They are on Star Trak because it was the only label that would let Chester French produce the album themselves.
November 10th, 2008 at 5:51 am
I don’t listen to neptunes or star trak, but I listen to NERD and I can understand why they would take chester french. These guys do not sound like Blink 182, btw.
November 11th, 2008 at 6:15 pm
reading these comments chester french isnt going to have a ot of fans when the alblum drops in the year 3030….Star Trak, dope label…..horrible Marketers

if you listen to N.E.R.D., which is Pharrell’s alternative hip hop group, you will understand why they signed Chester French. Coming from a Star Trak fan, they DEF fit within the label. Keep in mind that Star Trak may produce alot of hip hop beats; however, the bands they sign are more on the alternative funk side
November 17th, 2008 at 8:47 pm
I can see why a member had to shag a Geldof to get in the paper.
November 21st, 2008 at 5:06 am
So are these guys ever going to release an album ? Star Trak is not a very strong record label, so I’m not surprised their album hasn’t been released.
November 23rd, 2008 at 8:29 am
Lol, it’s rude to call it cracka ass shit but I do see your point, these dudes don’t belong on star trak, they belong on an indie label.
November 26th, 2008 at 8:34 am
I don’t understand, why would any fans of star trak and the neptunes like this kind of music ? I thought the reason they were signed is because their music had a hiphop edge to it, but listening to this shows that their music is pure rock music. They sound a lot like Blink 182, they don’t belong on star trak.

It’s crazy how this song starts off with a 60s vibe then pops outta nowhere with the synthesizers.
